On March 26, close to 7:30 a.m., Tonya Rogers was walking to her front door after coming home from work in southwest Houston.

Then, a black, four-door sedan quickly approached her property in the 4300 block of Boynton.

A man, brandishing a gun, got out of the vehicle’s passenger seat and approached Rogers. He then told her to give him all of her money.

“I’m still in shock,” Rogers has stated.

Rogers thew all of her belongings at the suspect. He then dug inside of Roger’s pockets, grabbed her purse, went back to the car, and left the location.

Just the day before, Roger’s brother had placed security cameras around her home, but she thought she wouldn’t need them in her Pamela Heights community.

Rogers said that she was not prepared for an occurrence like this but has since purchased a gun.

“I’m ready,” she expressed.

The robbery suspect has been described as a Black male, close to 5’8. He was wearing a maroon hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes. The car is said to have possibly been a Hyundai Elantra.

Police continue to look for the suspect.
