Man Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison After Shattering Baby’s Skull Until It Looked Like “Puzzle Pieces”

A Florida man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after shattering an infant girl’s skull so badly that it was described as looking like “puzzle pieces”.

Demarcus Johnson received the sentence Monday during what was described as an emotional proceeding.

Johnson’s girlfriend at the time, Tyreonna Williams, left her 3-month-old daughter, Ty’ahni Williams, with him. When the mother returned she found her baby unresponsive. The little girl was flown to the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Florida for surgery and survived.

According to Williams, her daughter was healthy when she left him with Johnson that day. Now the little girl will “never speak, cry or laugh again,” and that she suffers from daily seizures.

The girl’s grandmother, Meshika Towns, asked for the maximum sentence because Johnson showed no care or remorse. Johnson, however, did not get the full 30-year sentence because a judge determined he had no previous crimes.

Johnson claims he is innocent and never caused the injuries to the infant.
