Parks, a 2-year-old dog, has been given a job at a children’s hospital in Florida. His job will be to offer emotional support and physical aid.

The Labrador Retriever just joined the child life team at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Florida.

At the medical facility, he will be able to perform 40 commands. This will entail pulling toy wagons, pushing drawers, and going to get certain things, the hospital stated.

A nonprofit that brings people and organizations to service dogs, Canine Companions, is responsible for training Parks.

During his free time, the dog will work with a child life specialist at the hospital.

“Parks and I were matched together by Canine Companions, and even though we’ve only been working together for a month, I can already see the impact he is making with our children and adolescents,”  the specialist said.

The Orlando organization said that Parks will give emotional support and be a inspiration for patients and their relatives  who are battling sicknesses or diagnoses.

Reports indicate that it cost about $50,000 to train a facility canine.
