Authorities have apprehended a man for fatally shooting a man accused of killing his son and stepdaughter.
Bikio Johnson, 46, fatally shot Hollis Carter, 21, stated officers with the New Orleans police department. Carter was on his way to a court hearing in relation to the killing of Johnson’s son and his sister.
In March 2021, Caleb Johnson, 18, and Breyiana Brown, 25, were killed. Carter had been facing two second-degree murder charges in their deaths. He was out on bond when he was killed.
Authorities say that the siblings were killed during a gun purchase that went wrong. A third person was wounded in the shooting.
On March 23, Bikio Johnson is said to have shot Carter in the head and injured his mother as they were going to court. He had shot eight bullets into their vehicle.
On Friday, Johnson was apprehended. He has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
