12 Year Old Dies Of Fentanyl Overdose; Uncle Charged With His Death

A New Jersey man is facing criminal charges after his 12 year old nephew overdosed on fentanyl.

According to reports the child was found unresponsive on the school bus on January 24. Students tried to wake the child but couldn’t.

A school nurse performed cpr on the child until emergency crews arrived. He was transported to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he later died on February 1.

During an autopsy the medical examiner determined the child died from drug intoxication, specifically fentanyl.

The child was living with his uncle Troy Nokes,35 in a home where Nokes manufactured Fentanyl.

Apparently, a week before Nokes nephew passed away he asked his nephew to clean paraphernalia that contained fentanyl.

Nokes did not give his nephew any gloves to wear while cleaning the drugs.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter, strict liability drug-induced death, maintaining a CDS production facility, employing a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme, endangering the welfare of a child, witness tampering, tampering with evidence, hindering apprehension, aggravated assault and other related offenses.

His ex girlfriend, Joanna Johnson was also arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension of Nokes.

Both of them are being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
