On Tuesday, a mother was fatally shot at a cemetery in Texas. She had been there visiting the gravesite of her son who recently died. It was her son’s “first birthday in Heaven,” authorities and her husband stated.
Just after 5 p.m., Yolanda N’Gaojia, 52, was shot and killed at Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen. Another person also experienced non-life threatening wounds.
“I have no words because I can’t believe this is real,” said Kineh N’Gaojia, Yolanda’s ex-husband.
“This is the stuff you see in movies, but it has become our life. I can’t believe you are gone. How y’all gonna kill her on her Son birthday at his gravesite???” He expressed on Facebook.
On New Year’s Day, Amir, Yolanda’s would-be 22-year-old son, died. He was one of three children that the couple shared together.
“My children will never be the same again,” Kineh continued.
“Those bullets took a precious gem from us, an amazing angel to guide us. So, you know we ain’t going nowhere but up. Cause we know how hard you rode your family,” the father wrote.
Police in Killeen are investigating the murder and have called the occurrence an isolated incident.
