On Thursday, three men were indicted for shooting and killing a security guard. This happened as the guard was ensuring that a San Francisco Bay Area television crew was safe.

In November, Kevin Nishita was killed. Now, the three men are facing murder, attempted robbery, and assault with a semi-automatic weapon charges.

Nishita died several days after he was shot in the abdomen after the suspects attempted to steal a KRON-TV news crew’s equipment.

The news crew was working on a story of a robbery at a store.

Hershel Hale, 25, and Shadihia Mitchell, 25, have been apprehended. Police are still looking for another suspect, Laron Marques Gilbert. He is thought to be armed and dangerous.

Authorities believe that all three men are connected to a San Francisco gang.

Prior to working for Star Protection Agency, which provides security for news crews in the area, Nishita was a police officer.

“Nothing brings back your loved one, but people can feel some sense of justice,” stated the Oakland Police Chief.
