A Louisiana man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend and her 2 year old son.
Kaylen Johnson, 24, and her 2 year old son, Kaden Johnson were reported missing earlier this month.
On March 11, after the family still hadn’t heard from Johnson they asked police to perform a welfare check at her apartment. When officers entered the apartment they found no signs of foul play.
They spoke with Johnson’s boyfriend, Brynnen Murphy,20 who initially claimed he hadn’t spoken with her and didn’t know her whereabouts.
On Monday March 14, Murphy turned himself into police and led them to a wooded area. Both Kaylen and Kaden’s bodies were located.
An autopsy performed showed Kaylen died from multiple gunshot wounds. Kaden’s cause of death is still being investigated but it is believed he died of hyperthermia.
Murphy was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two charges of first degree murder. He is being held with no bond.
