Jerry Thayil, the manager at Fuqua Express gas station in Houston, believes that thieves stole hundreds of gallons of gas from his store. It is believed that they stole the diesel fuel through a trap door below a minivan.

The manager said that he was first aware of the problem as he was reviewing inventory.

When camera footage was checked, it revealed a dark-colored minivan stationed over the store’s fuel tanks on several instances.

“At first we were like, ‘I wonder what he’s doing there,” because we didn’t see anyone get out if the vehicle. But then, we realized there’s probably a trap door inside the vehicle, and he’s pumping like that,” Thayil stated.

The thieves are said to have stolen 350 gallons of diesel on three different occasions from the family-owned business. That is worth about $5,000. On the fourth try, Thayil attempted to chase down the driver, but he got away.

A police report has been filed in the matter.
