8-Year-Old Boy Forced To Cut Off Long Hair After Grandparents Wouldn’t Brush It For Three Weeks

2.2kviews

After staying with his grandparents for three weeks, an eight-year-old boy went back home with his hair immensely tangled. He had no choice but to get it chopped.

The mother uploaded a video to social media detailing what happened. Her son had been in quarantine with his grandparents since they had been infected with COVID-19. Although the grandparents knew he needed assistance brushing his lengthy hair, they wouldn’t help him.

The mother’s parents don’t think that boys should possess long hair; therefore, they neglected it. It became matted up, and a huge portion had to be cut out.

The grandson had taken four years to grow his hair long. He was hoping to donate his hair to the Wigs for Kids charity. This organization assists with creating wigs for children after they have gone through chemotherapy.

“He’s been growing his hair for four years with the intention of donation. After 12 hours of dematting, he agreed that it was time to cut it,” the mother, @xanthehorrorfan, explained on TikTok.

Since the front part of his hair wasn’t bad, he only had to have the back part cut out.

“Matted hair happens from neglect and abuse! No child should have to endure this physical and emotional pain. The last three weeks with his grandparents have changed his life. I will never let that happen again!”
