A man in Florida was using a porta-potty when he was smashed by a bulldozer.
Aaron Henderson, 40, was working as a traffic control contractor at a landfill in Polk County when he was killed on Friday.
Henderson’s job entailed him being a spotter at the site. He controlled the movements of incoming and outgoing dump trucks from the ground. This would happen when the trucks would dump the trash in the landfill.
As workers began to close down the site and store the equipment for the day, the tragic incident occurred.
Someone navigating a bulldozer was traveling up an embankment to park in the heavy staging location. However, the front blade was raised up, obstructing a clear front view.
Once the bulldozer had gotten to level ground, the operator turned it, heard a crunching noise, and saw he had run over a porta-potty.
The operator quickly exited the bulldozer and went to see if anyone had been inside of it. He then observed Mr. Henderson inside and unconscious.
Henderson, who had only been working at the site for three weeks, died at the scene.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was informed of the incident, and an autopsy will be performed sometime later.
As of now, deputies believe the occurrence was purely an accident.
