Two Police Officers Fired For Inappropriate Relationships With Confidential Informant

2.2kviews

On February 28, 2022, two officers with the Fort Meyers, Florida, police department were fired. Claims say that the two were untruthful.

Documents state that officers Evelyn Roberts and Sarah Hodakosi were involved in inappropriate relationships with an ex or current unidentified confidential informant.

Detectives say that cell phone and video evidence was gathered during the investigation.

It was also noted that the two officers lied about details surrounding their knowledge of an ex-officer, Jason Jackson, having an inappropriate relationship. Jackson was fired from his job back in November after being accused of associating with convicted felons. He did so while having a sexual relationship with a current or former confidential informant.

All officers and informant communication is supposed to be about business only, the department stated.

Additionally, if a confidential informant reaches out to an officer for a personal reason, they are required to stop the communication immediately. They must write down all of the details of the contact on an informant contact sheet, the department added.

Prior to this, records show that Roberts and Hodakoski were supposed to be fired last year. This is because they were accused of signing into work 28 times for shifts that didn’t really work.
