As a part of a protest over Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, a Ukrainian man attempted to sink his Russian boss’s $7.7 million luxury yacht in Spain. He has now been apprehended.

Taras Ostapchuk, 55, was arrested on Saturday in Mallorca after he was said to have opened many valves to purposely flood the 156- foot-long-yacht, Lady Anastasia. Its owner is Alexander Mijeev, who is the CEO of a Russian military weapons business.

When authorities went to apprehend Ostapchuk, the crew worker stated, “My boss is a criminal who sells weapons that kill the Ukrainian people,” reports allege.

He said that he was led to sinking the vessel because of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

“I watched the news of the war. There was a video of a helicopter attack on a building in Kyiv. The armaments used are produced by the yacht owner’s company. They were attacking innocents,” Ostapchuk stated in court.

Additionally, he declared to the judge that he wasn’t sorry and “would do it again.”

The engine room on the yacht experienced great damage.

Ostapchuk was employed on the yacht for ten years as a mechanic. He has been released from custody on bail.

His plan is to go back to Ukraine, where he is from, and assist with the fight.

“I’ve never held a weapon, but if necessary, I will. Why Not!?” Ostapchuck stated.
