A man in Memphis, Tennessee, has pleaded guilty to a 2019 homicide. It involved him fatally shooting a man for looking at him.
A witness had come forward and said that Bryant Ward, 26, became angry when he and Bryan Hervey, 61, looked directly at each other as their cars passed.
Authorities say that Hervey was a member of the community security monitoring.
At first, Ward shot his weapon while he was still inside of his car. He then exited his vehicle and started shooting at Hervey.
A portion of the occurrence was caught on video footage from someone’s door bell camera. Hervey had run to the resident’s home and shots could be heard on the camera recording.
When officers observed Hervey’s car, it had several bullet holes, a broken window, and they found over 24 shell casings from the scene.
When authorities located Hervey, a piece of paper was in his hands with a license plate number. Detectives then found a vehicle with a license plate number that closely matched.
A couple of days later, Ward was apprehended.
He was given a 20-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
