During a traffic stop, authorities discovered almost $200,000 hidden in toy boxes, and a Texas man was apprehended.

64-year-old Emundo Rendon, of McAllen, Texas, is facing money laundering between $150,000 and $300,000 charges which is a second-degree felony.

On Tuesday afternoon, Rendon was stopped for a traffic offense on I-10 westbound in Flatonia when he was arrested.

After showing possible signs of criminal activity, Rendon’s car was searched, and three toy boxes were found. Officers believed the boxes were too hefty to be toys. When they looked inside the boxes, they discovered vacuum-sealed bags of money. It was consistent “to that of drug trafficking and money laundering organizations.”

When the money was taken to a bank, the amount equaled $199,000.

Additionally, this was not Rendon’s first time in this situation. Prior to this, he was accused of smuggling more than $3 million.

Rendon is being held at the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in Austin, TX.

  1. Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having
a hard time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems
different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
