The Texas Restaurant Association, Texas Package Stores Association, and Texas retailers have been requested to take Russian products off their shelves by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
In the tweet sent out on Saturday afternoon, he stated, “Texas stands with Ukraine.”
Its the most recent remark that the governor has made about the battle Russia is declaring against its neighboring country. He also posted a picture of the Dallas skyline, lit up with blue and yellow, Ukraine’s national colors.
Many restaurants and bars around the country have publicly stated that they will get rid of Russian items.
A pizza shop in Las Vegas said that they would get rid of all of their Russian vodka. They will then put vodka from Ukraine in the bottles and sell $5 shots. The money that is earned will go towards assistance for Ukraine.
The Russian military has started to invade parts of Ukraine within the last couple of days. Street fighting is expected, and citizens have been told to stay vigilant and remain in their residences.
