On Tuesday, Beatrice Bijoux, 31, was arrested after intentionally striking four people with her car while they were walking. She then left the scene.

The Florida woman is now facing four counts of attempted murder.

Stuart Police Department officials say that Bijoux steered her car into the pedestrians outside of the Fresh Market grocery store.

One person who was struck was sent to a hospital. The other 3 individuals suffered minor wounds in the occurrence.

Additionally, documents state that the suspect attempted to hit a witness with her car when that person tried to get her to stay at the scene.

Authorities were able to find Bijoux’s vehicle a short time later. She was then apprehended.

Bijoux is said to have disclosed to authorities that “the voices in her head had told her to kill people.”

Police add that Bijoux talked about suicidal thoughts, as well.

In 2019, Bijoux was diagnosed with mental health disorders. However, reports show that she hasn’t been seen by a physician since December.

The last part of court documents state that Bijoux had thought about “killing her 4-year-old niece, today.” That child resides with her part-time.

Bijoux is being held without bond.
