An incident that killed a 42-year-old mother at a fitness center in Mexico City is under investigation.
A video recording shows a mother being crushed by a 400-pound barbell in front of her child.
The woman is seen, on Monday, exercising at Fitness Sport in the Peralvillo community. A man is observed arranging four, large plates prior to her getting into place.
However, the woman couldn’t manage the barbell, and it fell on her neck. She died immediately.
The man and the woman’s daughter attempted to take the large weights off of the mother. Two other people attempted, unsuccessfully, to help her, as well.
The man then placed the woman on her side as onlookers stood in disbelief. He then walked away after observing blood coming from near her head.
It was reported that the woman’s daughter is receiving help for psychological concerns after witnessing her mother’s death in such a traumatic manner.
