On Thursday, February 24, Christopher Buie, 49, was fatally shot at Stanley Tire and Auto on Caldwell Drive, in Hazlehurst, MS, close to 5 p.m.
As an investigation is taking place, Stanley Eckhoff, the 47-year-old owner, was arrested for fatally shooting Buie in the matter that seemed to be caused by a disagreement over repairs to Buie’s car. Buie was hit with one bullet to his neck.
“His vehicle has been here ever since last week. It wasn’t fixed. And I wanna know why that man had the nerve to shoot and kill my son because of something he’s supposed to have done. They got into a confrontation where the owner had plenty of time to call the law down there,” stated the victim’s mother, Anna Buie.
On Friday morning, Eckhoff appeared in court for the first time, and a bond was not granted.
