Two traffic stops in Oldham County resulted in the confiscation of drugs and several apprehensions.
On February 16, DPS seized 48 pounds of methamphetamine and over 5 pounds of cocaine. One and a half pounds of THC, two ounces of marijuana, and 331 grams of suspected fentanyl pills were also found.This occurred after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper pulled a 2021 Toyota Rav 4 over, in Oldham County. It was headed east on I-40, close to Vega.
Felipe Escalera-Nunez, the 23-year-old driver, and Brian Salinas, 25, both from Missouri, were apprehended. They have been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. They were taken to and booked into the Oldham County Jail.
Authorities say that the drugs were being taken from Los Angeles to Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Then, on Saturday, a Jeep was traveling on I-40 when it was pulled over for a traffic offense. A trooper found methamphetamine and fentanyl tablets in the trunk.
Kendall Jouett, 30, and Armani Rose, 24, both from Ohio, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. They, too, were transported to the Oldham County Jail.
Authorities say that those drugs were being carried from Los Angeles to Cincinnati, Ohio.
