Many DoorDash customers are unsure if their orders will be right or arrive on time. Therefore, DoorDash will begin to penalize restaurants by increasing its commission fees.
This could result in commission rates increasing as much as 20% per order, beginning next year.
Additionally, McDonald’s, specifically, will have to pay money back themselves once they get to a certain point of customer refunds.
The new policy states that the increase in rates will take place once a driver has been waiting for more than four minutes to retrieve an order.
DoorDash guidelines state that an order is late after the amount of travel time to the customer and/or to the merchant goes past the approximated time. However, it does figure in anything outside of the driver’s control. That also involves wait time.
