Man Arrested After Fatally Shooting His Friend’s 12 Year Old Brother For Teasing Him About His Girlfriend

A man has been arrested for fatally shooting his friends 12 year old brother after he teased him about his girlfriend.

The incident occurred on January 2 when Jaran Hughes,21 was staying at a good friend’s house on the 5500 block of South Aberdeen Street.

Apparently Hughe’s was in the room on the phone with his girlfriend when Wilson,12 began to tease him about her.

Hughes became upset and shot the 12 year old with a semi automatic with an extended clip and fled the home before officers could arrive.

Officers followed his foot tracks in the snow to an alleyway where they found one of his shoes.

Authorities executed a search warrant for Hughe’s girlfriend’s Facebook account and found multiple messages between the two.

Some of the messages contained information stating that his life was over. He also said he will go to jail for a long time.

On January 14, Hughes was arrested in Racine, Wisconsin, where he was staying with relatives.

He is currently being held without bond and is due back in court on February 22.
