Dallas Police Officer Faces Charges In Pyramid Scheme Case

4.3kviews

In October, Dallas police officer, Reginald Jones, was arrested. Now, he has been indicted for organizing a pyramid scheme.

Court documents note that Jones was operating a “blessing circle.” He would ask members to pay money ahead of time and assured them that money would be coming back to them. That would only happen, though, if they would be able to get more people to join the circle.

“There’s a theme. So here, the theme is you are receiving blessings. And in order to receive a blessing, you have to give a blessing. But you receive your blessing four-or five-times fold. So, if you put in $100, later on when you are blessed, you may get $500,” stated an attorney.

Authorities say that Jones’ operation transferred $48,000 and included gaining 159 members. Over 12 of those people were co-workers of Officer Jones at the South Central Patrol Division in Oak Cliff.

The Dallas Police Department put those employees on administrative leave during an investigation.

Dallas police reserve officer Brad Deason and civilian worker Sonja Davis have been indicted, as well.
