A Georgia Deputy Sheriff has been arrested following allegations including sex trafficking, child molestation and child cruelty.
Derrick Gardner,34 was arrested by Dekalb County police on February 6.
He is being charged with trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, rape, child molestation, cruelty to children in the first degree, enticing a child for indecent purposes and aggravated sexual battery.
Gardner was immediately terminated from his position with Dekalb County Sheriff Department. He is also being held without bond.
Gardner had been with the department for four years where he served as a jailer before being promoted to sheriff.
