Cousin Of Missing Teen, Arrested In Relation To Her Disappearance

6.7kviews

An arrest has been made in the Jan. 4 disappearance of a 17-year-old girl named Zion Foster.

Jaylin Brazier, 23, was arrested Saturday on a felony warrant for lying to police in connection to Foster’s disappearance. Brazier, who is Foster’s cousin, was a person of interest in the case from the beginning. He turned himself in on Wednesday, Jan. 19, and was questioned by police.

Foster’s mom, Ciara Milton, said her daughter texted her that night and said she was coming home. When she never arrived, Milton used her daughter’s phone’s GPS to track her location. Foster’s location was tracked to the Greenfield and Seven Mile area in Detroit. Milton officially reported her daughter missing the following day.

Investigators found that Foster was last seen leaving her home in Eastpointe with her cousin.

Brazier picked up Foster at her home so they could hang out, yet refused to tell her mother where she was after she didn’t return home.

Detectives found enough evidence to charge Brazier for lying to police after the information he provided to police was proved inaccurate.

Brazier is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.

The whereabouts of Foster are still unknown.
