Bond Revoked For Business-Man Who Murdered His Black Employee And Buried Him Under A Septic Tank
Bond for an Oklahoma businessman who allegedly killed and buried his employee under a septic tank has been revoked.
Daniel Triplett was out on a $500,000 bond since December 2021 but landed himself back in jail for not obeying his bond conditions. Triplett was restricted from leaving his house for any reason other than court and medical attention. However, he was seen at the bank, a restaurant, and a gas station, prompting a judge to revoke his bond.
Triplett was out on bond for a murder charge in the death of his employee, Brent Mack, who was a 50-year-old black man.
Mack’s daughter, Raychelle Wilson, reached out to Triplett on Facebook Messenger after not hearing from him for a while. Inconsistencies in Triplett’s story about when he last saw Mack drew immediate cause for concern.
Triplett initially said he dropped off Mack in Guthrie, Oklahoma, after firing him. However, video showed Triplett driving through Guthrie but never stopping to drop Mack off. Also, receipts in Triplett’s home showed that both men were working together before Mack’s disappearance. The men were working on a septic tank at a home in Mulhall. Surveillance footage at the residence shows them arriving together, but only Triplett was seen leaving the property.
Mack’s body would later be discovered buried under the septic tank.
Damario Solomon-Simmons, Mack’s family’s attorney, said he believes Triplett’s bond was granted in part due to his race and status in his community as a well-respected business owner.
Triplett faces charges of first-degree murder and desecration of a corpse.
