Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, is opening an online pharmacy so that the general public can receive healthcare at a reasonable price.
The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs Company will offer 100 generic medications. It will operate as a prescription drug wholesaler, purchasing medicine straight from manufacturers. The great part about it, is prices won’t be jacked up.
Cuban is up front about a 15% increase on drugs and an additional pharmacist fee of $3. The drugs must also be paid for out of pocket and a shipping cost.
But even with that, it will still be cheaper than what one would pay by going through their insurance or using coupons. Furthermore, the 15% increase is nothing close to the normal 100% increase that is already taking place.
To add to the excitement, his plan will still cost less than the cheapest option on the market with his $120 per month.
Cuban is starting a plan to open up a plant in Dallas to ensure the program runs effectively.
