Andre Leon Talley, the 73-year-old fashion icon, has died.

The ex-creative director for Vogue and one-time editor died Tuesday at a medical facility in White Plains, New York. The reason that he was hospitalized was unknown.

Talley worked at Vogue in the 80’s and 90’s and assisted with their vision and direction. He then became the news editor and the creative director.

Talley was noted for being a legend in the fashion industry, including his stylish wardrobe and helping more Black models get to the runway.

He has been a fashion consultant for Michelle Obama and served as a judge on “America’s Next Top Model.”

Although he never publicly made a statement, Talley was an LBGT icon. He was “more fluid than anything in his sexuality.”

Talley is thought to be one of the first mainstream tastemakers in the U.S, as well.

“You and your passions were larger than life. I Love you. I will miss you, dear Andre. Rest in peace,” Fashion Designer Marc Jacobs posted on Instagram.
