Officials say that an SUV with 10 dead bodies was left outside of a Mexican state governor’s office on Thursday.
The Mazda SUV was parked close to a Christmas tree in the main plaza of the state capital in Zacatecas.
The eight men and two women that were discovered dead showed signs of severe beating and bruises.
After an autopsy was conducted, all ten bodies showed signs of asphyxiation by strangulation. Six of the individuals had wounds that revealed that their hands and feet had been tied up. One showed signs of being tortured.
As of now, the Mexican security ministry is sending help in the investigation, and two people have been arrested.
President Andres Lopez said the incident happened because of a dispute between two gangs. He stated that the dead bodies were left as a “provaction.”
