6.2kviews

Five children died in Australia outside of their school, Hillcrest Primary, on Thursday, in a bouncy castle incident.

Investigators are now trying to determine if the huge inflatable was secured to the ground correctly.

The fifth and sixth graders were inside the bouncy house when they went 30 feet in the air after it was hit with strong wind.

Addison Stewart, 11, Zane Mellor, 12, Jye Sheehan, 12, Jalailah Jayne- Maree Jones, 12, and Peter Dodt, 12, all died.

Three more children are in a hospital and are said to be in critical condition. One child was released from the hospital.

On the day of the occurrence, local weathercasts predicted “light winds.” Officials will try to see if the device was properly managed and check the wind speed to see if this was just a “freak accident.”

The management company that owns the bouncy castle will be questioned in the matter.
