George Cacioppo, the senior vice-president from the team behind PlayStation, has been terminated.
People v. Preds is an amateur sting operation designed to catch sexual predators who attempt to meet children online. They identified Cacioppo as the person that was trying to meet up with a 15 year-old boy at 4:30 a.m.
In video footage, a camera man is observed walking towards a house where Cacioppo is standing, wearing a PlayStation 5 T-shirt. The camera man then questions “Jeff,” referring to Cacioppa, about who is expecting to meet.
“We can have a conversation, or I can call the cops,” he says. Cacioppo then goes back inside of the residence, closing the door.
Reports say that Cacioppo met the teen (a decoy) on Grindr, a site for gay, bi, trans, and queer individuals. The two sent photos of each other, and “Jeff” provided his address with the intent to have sex with the 15 year-old.
Sony says that they are aware of the situation and Cacioppo has been fired. No criminal charges have been filed as of yet.
