After More Than A Decade Of Using The Handle “Squid Game” Woman Says She Is Missing Employment Opportunities

Lydia Ellery, whose handle is @squidgame, stated that she is losing work because people believe that she is connected with the Netflix Show.

On Twitch, Ellery uses @squidgame, on Twitter, she uses @squidgaming. Additionally, for 11 years, she says that she has used the name @squidgame on Instagram.

Tuesday, Ellery tweeted that it is possible that she may have to modify the name as a result of missing out on two would-be jobs because of the relation to the hit show.

“First, I get sent abuse, then I get banned, now I’m losing out on work,” she said.

Ellery, 32, had been prohibited from Instagram once before when the show first aired. She believed that it was because someone reported the account or logged in.

The show on Netflix is about people who play in various, deadly children’s games to attempt to win money to pay off their debts.

It is one of Netflix’s most-watched shows.
