Dallas firefighters are examining a fire that left several residents placed and a firefighter injured late Monday night.
Officers responded to a fire on the 2300 block of Elsie Faye Heggins St around 11:40pm.
Upon arrival they noticed heavy fire presence coming from a one story duplex.
Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire but the duplex was severely damaged.
A firefighter was transported to Parkand hospital for burns to his hands.
He is expected to be ok.
Residents in the area told police they saw a man fleeing the area on foot before the fire.
Police arrested a person of interest in the area for questioning.
The fire investigation remains ongoing.
