A Dallas-Fort Worth woman and family holds the title of the richest family in the world.
According to a 2021 Bloomberg’s report, the Waltons, including billionaire Alice Walton of Fort Worth, are at the top of the list.
The Waltons have always been known to have a lot of money, but because the price of Walmart stock has increased, their whole fortune combined has risen $23 billion.
A new report has shown that the Waltons are worth $238.2 billion. They are $100 billion richer than the second richest family, the Mars, popular for candy and maintenance of pets.
Just last year, the Walton’s net worth was $215 billion.
The breakdown includes Lukas Walton’s wealth at $22 billion and Alice’s $61.9 billion(second richest person in Texas).
Additionally, Jim Walton is worth $63.7 billion and Rob Walton $63.3 billion.
The Waltons have been criticized for paying workers low wages despite their enormous wealth.
The company has now started employees at $12 an hour.
