Allyson Felix, 35, has gone above and beyond for her sport. She has decided to give back to other athletes in the track and field spectrum. The Olympic star is starting a partnership that will pay for childcare expenses for mothers participating in the Summer Games.

A single mother herself, Felix has partnered with Athleta and the Women’s Sports Foundation to start the program. The Power of She Fund will donate $200,000 for childcare cost to 9 mom-athletes competing in the Olympics in Tokyo.

“As a mom and an athlete, I know first-hand the obstacles women face in sports,” Felix said.

The athletes that receive the grant will also discuss systematic changes in the sport during a roundtable setting.

The 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo will be Felix’s fifth and last participation in the games. In 2004, the then 18 year-old make her first appearance in Athens, Greece, obtaining a silver medal.
