Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Sentence Overturned; Cosby To Be Released Soon

1.1kviews

Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction was overturned in a Pennsylvania courtroom Wednesday.
Cosby has served more than two years at a state prison near Philadelphia.
He was sentenced in 2018 to 3-10 years for the 2004 encounter with accuser Andrea Constand.
The judges believed that when former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor investigated the allegations against Bill Cosby by a woman named Andrea Constand in 2005, Castor felt that “he would not be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Cosby drugged and raped Constand.”
Cosby’s attorney, Brian Perry said, “We believe that he will be released from prison this afternoon.”
“The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is in receipt of today’s court decision. Work is underway to complete the necessary paperwork, and Mr. Cosby will be released as soon as practical.”
Spokeswoman Maria Bivens, for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections said, “The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is in receipt of today’s court decision. Work is underway to complete the necessary paperwork, and Mr. Cosby will be released as soon as practical.”
