Kansas Mother Arrested After Faking Being Shot As April Fool’s Day Prank

A Kansas woman was arrested Thursday after trying to pull an April Fool’s prank on her daughter.
According to reports officers were dispatched to the 4800 block of East Arlene, not far from 21st and Oliver for a shooting call.
Arnthia Willis,58 decided to play an April Fool’s prank on her daughter by calling her up and saying she had been shot and then abruptly hanging up the phone.
The daughter immediately contacted police, multiple units responded to the residence.
After multiple attempts to reach someone inside the residence, officers broke down the door with shields and weapons drawn and searched the house to find no one inside.
During the investigation officers learned that this was an April Fool’s Day prank.
Willis was later arrested in Derby by Derby police and charged with of unlawful request for emergency assistance.
