Two young teenage girls are facing murder charges Wednesday in the death of an UberEats driver who they allegedly carjacked and assaulted with a stun gun device in Washington, DC, according to reports.
The suspects, ages 13 and 15, are accused of violently attacking the 66-year-old driver, Mohammad Anwar, inside his car on Tuesday as he was driving near National Park in the southeast side of the city, according to news reports.
Investigators say the gray sedan Anwar was driving, crashed and flipped on its side during the attempted robbery.
The victim was located on the sidewalk by police as they were arriving on the scene. He was rushed to the nearby hospital but he had already succumbed to his injuries.
The two girls had to be pulled from the wreck by two National Guard troops that were in the area. They were then arrested and taken into custody.
The teens are now facing charges of Murder and Carjacking.
Anwar, a father and grandfather, emigrated from Pakistan to the US for a better life in 2014, according to reports.
