Dallas police officers have apprehended the suspects involved in a brutal robbery against an off duty Arlington police officer that was at a gas pump early Wednesday morning.
According to Arlington PD they received notification from DPD stating that they conducted a routine traffic stop Wednesday afternoon and arrested four juvenile suspects.
During the investigation officers learned that the vehicle was stolen and once a search was conducted officers found, an Arlington officers ID inside the vehicle along with a weapon.
The suspects will be transported to Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.
Arlington police chief Al Jones said in a statement, “The information we have right now leads us to believe this was a crime of opportunity and the officer was not targeted based upon his affiliation with law enforcement. Regardless, this armed robbery could have happened to anyone in our community so we are asking the public’s assistance in identifying those involved. We are grateful for our colleagues in Dallas who made a traffic stop and detained the teenagers implicated in this offense.”
