Mississippi authorities are investigating two separate crime scenes after the horrific discoveries of a severed head and a headless body in Jackson.
The head was found Saturday morning on the front porch of a home, Jackson Police Cmdr. Tyree Jones explained. He said, it appeared to have been cut off at the neck.
According to Jones, a headless burned body was discovered less than a mile away, a few hours later.
Both sets of remains are identified as those of a black male.
The body was found by a group of children in a wooded area.
Jackson Police said they have identified the severed head and the burned body that was discovered on Saturday as 30-year-old Jeremy Jerome Jackson.
