A 10-year-old boy named Louis Johnson from Florida took his own life, and his parents are suing the Marion County School Board, claiming he was bullied by his fifth-grade teacher, Dawn White.

They allege that White’s bullying contributed to Johnson’s depression and anxiety, leading to his tragic death. After his passing, the parents distributed “Suicide Prevention” flyers at Legacy elementary school highlighting their allegations.

A 2023 investigative report included testimonies from over two dozen students who described White as intimidating and reported her angry reactions to incorrect answers, which sometimes made students cry.

Following the investigation, the school board chose not to renew White’s contract.
