Former Dallas Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Sexual Abuse of Ex-Girlfriend’s Daughter

Hilliard, a former state juvenile facility correctional officer, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of sexually abusing his ex-girlfriend’s daughter over a nine-year period. The victim, now 18, testified that the abuse began when she was in preschool and continued until she was 12 years old, only ceasing when Hilliard left her mother. Throughout the trial, jurors heard harrowing details of the abuse, including threats made by Hilliard that kept the victim from coming forward sooner. Despite attempts by the defense to discredit the victim and portray her mother as vindictive, the jury ultimately found Hilliard guilty, ensuring he will not harm others again.
