A woman has been charged with murder for allegedly luring a sports reporter to his death at a hotel near New Orleans.

Danette Colbert, described as a serial fraudster, is accused of enticing 27-year-old Adan Manzano, a Telemundo correspondent covering the Super Bowl, into a hotel room in Kenner, Louisiana, where he was later discovered dead.

The Kenner Police Department has now charged Colbert with second-degree murder and has also apprehended Ricky White, a transient believed to have worked closely with Colbert to assume the reporter’s identity and rack up charges across New Orleans.

Authorities arrested Colbert after security footage showed her entering a Comfort Inn Suites with Manzano, leaving alone, then returning before departing again on the day he was found dead.

On Friday, police apprehended her alleged accomplice in Hollywood, Florida, where he is currently awaiting extradition from Fort Lauderdale.
